Duality

Duality was created with Nozama Dance Collective in 2021 and premiered at the N2 performance, an intimate performance feature all new works. Inspired by art picked by the dancers the focus was to find versions of the female form they found beautiful. When choreographing, the dancers were asked to develop their own set of movements inspired by these pieces of art. The piece itself is a duet with two people performing two sides of the same person. The dancers in white emphasize the delicate and soft features while the dancers in black portray strength and power. Often pitted against each other, we see both sides as assets that work together to create a whole person.
